Cryogen-free 3U/4U mixing chiller for generating low temperatures down to 10 mK and for investigating solid-state quantum systems (see service description for more details)
A cryogen-free 3U/4U mixing chiller is procured to generate low temperatures down to below 10mK. The mixing chiller must allow the investigation and control of solid-state quantum systems. For this purpose, the mixing chiller must have the technical specifications that enable the experimental investigation of such systems. In particular, the mixing chiller must have a sufficiently large sample volume to accommodate the experiments, a sufficiently high cooling capacity and a large number of microwave lines. The desired technical specifications are listed in the service description.
Exclusion criteria with regard to the technical specifications are:
- the maximum footprint must be less than 200 cm x 200 cm, the maximum height must be less than 230 cm
- To install the system, all parts of the mixing cryostat must fit through a door opening of 1.96m high and 0.917m wide; the gas handling system must not exceed dimensions HxWxD = 200cm x 100cm x 153cm.
- the attainable base temperature must be <= 10 mK
- the maximum cooling capacity must be >= 300 µW @ 100 mK or >= 800 µW @ 100 mK for the two
be systems to be offered as an alternative
- the sample volume available in the mixing chamber plate area must be >= 250 mm in diameter and >= 400 mm in height
- the system must only have a single vacuum chamber (no additional internal VA-Ku seals in the cold area)
- the cooling time must be less than 36h
- the delivery time must not be longer than 8 months
