The artificial rocks in the Meranti Hall immerse visitors in a tropical world with a variety of animals and plants. The Meranti tree is at the heart of the world of experience. The Meranti tree with its large, narrow root system can be seen in the entrance area. The visitor is introduced to the topic.
A near-natural wetland with different water areas is to be created. A waterfall is to be built centrally, which can also be seen from above by a small tower.
In the area of the conference, there is a research station with an observation platform that is to be adapted to the tropical appearance. The steel construction elements must be given a rusty color. An old, weathered appearance is to be created.
The enclosures facing the visitor are framed with artificial rock walls and individual glass partitions. The varying components (enclosure partitions) should be modelled in a nature-identical manner as free-standing boulders or create the impression of natural rock faces. Particular emphasis is placed on the transitions between painting/tinting and artificial rock, which follow the polygonal basic shape of the building and make the overall impression look natural.
Artificial rocks must be given a nature-identical, geologically comprehensible appearance in surface structure and color, as they prevail as rock formation in the Pantanal (see photo template).
In order to achieve a coherent effect of the entire plant, the individual rock elements are to be carefully reworked and formally integrated into the rock structure of the entire plant. Typical flat structures can be reproduced several times and repeated over the entire system. Striking special elements in which fissures, faults or the like occur should only occur once at a time. The rock structure must be designed according to the accompanying example photos (see photo template).
The artificial rock replicas are to be mounted via suitable fastening means, for example expansion anchors and glued-in threaded rods. The concrete shells should be filled with concrete and/or lightweight concrete in sections for better stability and a massive sound. The necessary attachment points are to be integrated into the structure and color of the rock replica. They must be completely covered up by suitable means.
When forming the facing shells, as well as all joints, fastening point covers and edges, care must be taken to prevent parts of the artificial rocks from becoming detached, even as a result of willful mechanical damage.
