The contractor is involved in the (gradual) modification of the ITF NRW with a target horizon until currently 2040.
The following possible areas of responsibility for the regional rail transport system will have to be processed by the contractor in a result- and solution-oriented manner (The complete scope of services of the contractor can be found in the service description):
- Updates of the NRW target network planning & infrastructure adaptation requirements for the target years 2032 and 2040
- Development / testing of sub-network concepts (partly cross-border)
- Development of new concepts for selected corridors and/or station nodes
- Integration of state and federal planning, BVWP, including Rhein-Ruhr-Express (RRX) and "Deutschland-Takt"
- Adaptation of the ITF NRW to further developments of long-distance transport
- Development of timetable relaxation measures & quality improvement measures
- Creation of operational quality analyses
- Fahrzeugeinsatzkonzepte/Umlaufplanungen
- Drivability tests and timetable conflict analyses
- Gleisbelegungsprüfungen
- Fahrzeitrechnungen & Reisezeitanalysen
- Investigation of framework conditions and effects of the introduction of ETCS (especially Level 2) in NRW
- Evaluation of the existing infrastructure, identification of development measures, for example for targeted expansion
- Presentation of results incl. visualizations in working and decision-making circles
