The objective of the procurement is to replace the existing refrigeration machine in the Educational and research building with a new and complete refrigeration machine. The existing refrigeration machine was installed during the construction stage, years 1994-1995. It is installed in the technical room in the basement of the building and has a dimensioning evaporation performance of 360 kW.

The refrigeration machine is used for comfort cooling and delivers ice water to the ventilation batteries, as well as some fan coils to a some laboratory rooms. The energy brine is ice water 7/12 0C and the heating medium 35/40 0C is water/glycol connected to a dry cooler at the building's roof. The existing machine is to be dismantled, transported out and disposed of. A new refrigeration machine is to be supplied, transported in, assembled and completely installed.

The existing system for energy brine and heating medium shall not be replaced.

The disciplines will be plumbing, installation of the refrigeration machine and electrical installation works. The contract type will be a general contract with a contract between the builder and the executor, and the contract is based on NS8406 (Norwegian Standard 8406) with the alterations and additions given in the tender documents.

Start of works and completion are in accordance with a continuous process and shall be completed within the end of June 2015.

Some of the school's older buildings are subject to renovation. Start of works are to be carried out stage by stage during 2015. Due to renovation the central building is planned to be out of operations during June 2015. However, the building where the refrigeration machine is located and replaced, will not be influenced by this.

Special attention regarding works (at the construction site), must be made. The school's operations must be unhindered during the construction period.
