The city of Burgdorf is planning to build a new IGS (Rudolf Bembenneck Comprehensive School) and the Hanover region is planning the new construction of a promotional school (school at the waterworks).
Both schools are to be built on adjacent properties on the northern outskirts of Burgdorf.
The city of Burgdorf has earmarked a budget of EUR 60 million for the new IGS construction. In addition to the actual school building, the 4-field sports hall with grandstand, the outdoor sports area and a bus station are to be integrated on a plot of approx. 51,000 m
The Hanover region has planned budget of EUR 29.2 million for the new development of the secondary school and an associated sports hall. The school is to be built on an area of approx. 20,000
The structural implementation of both schools is to be carried out by a total contractor. The two services are awarded in a loose manner. It is currently still open whether the two schools are built by one or two different total entrepreneurs.
The total contractor shall provide all planning, work, services and supplies necessary for the turnkey, functional, defect-free, operational and ready-to-move construction of the respective construction project including buildings along with outdoor facilities, traffic areas and parking lots.
The procurement process for awarding total contractor services began in summer 2020 and is currently in progress. The bidders submitted their revised bid by 28.5.2021. The second round of negotiations is currently being held. After completing the second round of negotiations, bidders will be invited to submit a final bid on June 28, 2021. The final offer is to be submitted by 13.7.2021. The client will make his award decision on the basis of the final offers. The responsible committees of both municipalities meet on 20.7.2021.
Construction is scheduled to start in summer 2022 and the completion of total contractor services and the commissioning of the buildings in summer 2024.
A project control office is sought for planning and construction controlling. The award process is still being accompanied by the previous project management office. However, the new project management office should still be integrated into the final contract negotiations whenever possible.
It is currently still open whether the previous contractor takes over planning and construction controlling for the secondary school. This will only be revealed in the course of the present procedure.
The subject of the services is planning and construction controlling for building construction and technical equipment (TGA).
