The demand for gas transport capacities in Baden-Württemberg is rising steadily. For this reason, terranets bw is planning the new "Süddeutsche Erdgasleitung" (SEL) natural gas transmission pipeline.
The SEL will start near Lampertheim and run via Heidelberg, Heilbronn, Ludwigsburg, Esslingen and Heidenheim over a total length of 250 km to Bis-singen in Bavaria. In Lampertheim, Heidelberg, Heilbronn and Löchgau, important network nodes to the existing tnbw network will be built. In the future, it will supply cities, municipalities, power plants and industries with natural gas and is expected to supply it with hydrogen from 2030.
The pipeline is to be erected in several construction phases, according to which the delivery dates will be determined. This tender includes services for the second construction phase:
SEL2: Löchgau - Esslingen (43km, DN 1000)
The services of further construction phases are the subject of future tenders. Further information can be found under www.terranets-sel.de.
The pipeline is to be built "H2Ready", i.e. suitable for the transport of up to 100% molecular hydrogen.
The planning approval decisions from 2010 and 2015 are still in force and must be implemented. Individual plan amendment procedures are still pending and will be taken into account as far as possible in the tender.
The applicant is free to inform himself about the planning approval decisions already in the participation competition phase. The planning approval decisions will be made available to the interested applicant for download upon request.
The private consent of the property owners and managers is also a condition for the start of the work. The acquisition of rights is still ongoing.
The subject of the award is the construction work (civil engineering, pipe construction) for the construction of the pipeline.
The applicants selected in the course of the participation competition will receive more detailed information on the subject of the order by requesting an offer.
The following services shall not form part of the contract for works:
- Werkstoffprüfungen
- Construction of shut-off valve stations, pigging stations and connection lines to the existing system of terranets bw
- Construction of infrastructure connections
- Archaeological construction supervision and pre-construction excavations
- Ecological and pedological construction supervision
- Construction supervision of the client
- Construction supervision and acceptance by experts from TÜV Süd
- Route planting (woody plants)

o Construction work to lay the pipeline in the open pipe trench including pressure testing and reclamation
o Construction work for the open crossing or culvert of water bodies of the second order
o Crossing of the Enz valley, including DirectPipe for crossing the Enz over a length of approx. 72 m, open or closed crossing of the federal highway 27 and Micro-tunnel for crossing a railway line. This work must be carried out in summer/autumn 2024 due to species protection In addition, the contractor can be granted as an option to realise further cuts within Lot 1 also from summer 2024, provided that the client has been able to create the legal requirements by then.
