Metropolitan is seeking to appoint a competent experienced gas servicing and responsive repair service provider, to service and maintain the gas installations within approximately 21,500 of their properties, a small number of which are commercial appliances. The contract will be 'Fully Comprehensive' covering all of Metropolitans; gas appliances, heating pipe work, radiators, hot water pipe work, cylinders (including unvented) and storage tanks etc. At this stage it is envisaged that approximately 100 to 125 boiler changes/new heating installations per annum may also be undertaken in Lots 1 and 2. Metropolitan also has a small number of properties using renewable technologies that will be included in the contract; these include ground & air source heat pumps and solar thermal. Metropolitan has approximately 39 properties with oil and solid fuel in Lot 1, again these will be included in the contract, with an annual safety check required along with all repairs. The successful contractor will also be required to offer a gas service to Metropolitan Leaseholders if they wish to take up this offer. The contract will be split into two lots. Lot 1 (North), covering the East Midlands and East Anglia regions and Lot 2 (South), covering North and South London regions and also including properties of Metropolitan Clapham Park Homes.
