Expansion of small retention reservoir and construction of small retention facilities in the Augustów Forest District as part of the project: “Comprehensive project for adaptation of forests and forestry to climate change — small retention and countering water erosion in lowland areas”. The order relates to the project “Comprehensive project for adaptation of forests and forestry to climate change — small retention and water erosion in lowland areas” funded by the Cohesion Fund under the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme 2014-2020. the implementation of the object of the order will be the administrative area of the Forest Forest District

The investment involves the construction of piling equipment and is tasked with stopping the outflow of surface water from the catchment site. Fixed piling structures will stabilize the groundwater table at a constant level, which will protect protected alder-ash habitats from overdrying and ensure optimum constant humidity. This effect will be achieved by leveling the impact of the drainage infrastructure existing on this site — the “B” main ditch and the side ditch. For this purpose, the execution on the main ditch “B” of three fixed-piling thresholds including one with a causeway is designed, which will allow for increased water retention in the catchment through trough retention. Designed structures will prevent overdrying during summer periods of these areas. The structures have fixed piling and do not require adjustment of the bolts. It is the responsibility of the user to constantly control the overflow of structures and remove accumulating impurities as well as perform periodic reviews of structures and, possibly, repairs. The essential element of the threshold is:

(a) sealed wooden wall of class II oak wood with a length of 7,0 m — structure no. 1, length 5,40 m — structure no. 2, length 6,0 m — structure no. 3;

(b) reinforcement of slopes and ditch bottoms from fieldstone bedspreads in fasszyn hurdles above and below the threshold.

The water reservoir for expansion is located on the land of the State Treasury on the board of the State Forest Farm of the Augustów Forest Forest District, based in Augustów. In the hydrographic system, the investment is located in the catchment of the Lebiedzianki River, a right-hand tributary of the Biebrza River. The existing reservoir is a natural reservoir. The investment will consist in its expansion, i.e. increasing its surface area and capacity from 740 m3 to 3 600 m3 . The investment does not interfere with the water and in the forest crops around the reservoir. The excavation of the excavation during the expansion of the reservoir will be used for the repair of forest roads located between individual forest departments in plots of Ev. 267, 268 (marked in the main map). The areas around the projected reservoir as a result of the project implementation will not be changed. The reservoir will serve to conduct a wide-ranging forest management. The investment is being implemented as part of the project “Comprehensive project for adaptation of forests and forestry to climate change — small retention and water erosion in lowland areas”. The distance of the water reservoir to the nearest buildings of the village Balinka is 1,100 m. Any work related to the implementation of the investment will not require the removal of trees and shrubs. Within the projected expansion of the reservoir, there is no network of underground and above-ground armament of the site. The reservoir after restoration will have an area of 0,28 hectares and is not eligible for undertakings likely to have a significant impact on the environment in accordance with § 3, paragraph 1 (88 e — (implementation of reservoirs and ponds with an area of not less than 0.5 ha) and paragraph 2 of the Council Regulation Ministers of 9 November 2010 on undertakings likely to have a significant impact on the environment (OJ 2019, item 1839 — uniform text). Designed for restoration, the reservoir is located along the route of the artificial trench “A”. It is fed by water from a catchment area of in a reservoir section of about 8 km2, and spring groundwater. It is flow-through. The water level in the reservoir is equal to the water level in the ditch at this location. Below the water reservoir on ditch “A” culvert with a diameter of 1.0 m and a length of 6.0 m. The current project of expansion of the water reservoir does not interfere with part of the ditch with water intake and culvert. Designed thresholds and valves have solid piling. The water level in the reservoir will be maintained by piling on a valve located at km 0+423 i.e. 500 m below the mouth from the reservoir.
