Through this tendering process, the Finnish Immigration Service procures the round-the-clock interpretation services it needs. The acquisition concerns the interpretation services needed by the Asylum Unit of the Finnish Immigration Service in asylum matters and the interpretation services required by the Permit and Citizenship Unit in matters related to residence permits. The interpretation services needed by reception centres will be put out to tender separately at a later date.
Interpretation services may be required at all times of the day and day of the week.
The Finnish Immigration Service uses interpretation services in asylum hearings and interviews, oral hearings arranged to determine the conditions for entry or residence permits, and other oral hearings in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act.
As a rule, the clients' matters handled by the Office are always confidential. A third party shall not have the right to be informed of them, nor shall it be disclosed to a third party that a particular person is or has been the applicant. Secrecy is governed by the Act on the Openness of Government Activities (1999/621) hereinafter referred to as the Act on the Openness of Government Activities.
As a rule, interpretation events are confidential. In all assignments, only safety-cleared interpreters are used.
Interpretation services are divided into ten (10) different areas of in-person interpreting as described below. Tenders can be made freely for one or more different areas. Subdivisions 1-8 are further divided into eleven (11) different languages. Within all areas, you can freely offer either one or more languages.
In section 9): "Languages listed" may be freely offered in the languages listed in Annex 1: "Description of the subject matter of the procurement".
In Section 10): "Other languages" may freely provide any other language not covered by subdivisions 1 to 9.
