Repair and conversion of the multi-purpose Prahm DP 3023

The multi-purpose Prahm DP 3023 was built in 1975 at the Eisenhüttenstadt shipyard. In particular, the Atlas Al 140.1-12.4/4 hydraulic loader crane is severely worn out due to the large number of load cycles and operating hours and therefore needs to be replaced. In addition, there is extensive sandblasting, conservation and maintenance work on the ship's hull, deck, interior fittings and superstructure. Furthermore, practice has shown that manoeuvring the convoy to retrieve and lay out buoys, which have to be laid precisely according to GPS, causes difficulties in strong crosswinds or moving the Prahm in the lock chambers. A bow thruster is therefore absolutely necessary for this multi-purpose ship. For this purpose, the existing hull would have to be opened and adapted, and a new hydraulic system and a more powerful diesel generator would also be necessary.
