Two vocational schools are currently located at the Steuerwalder Straße site. The Herman-Nohl-Schule with a focus on social, health and nursing professions as well as the Walter-Gropius-Schule with a focus on technology and craftsmanship.
Currently, about 1,800 students attend the Walter Gropius School and about 1,400 students attend the Hermann Nohl School. The teaching staff consists of about 100 teachers.
In the course of the renovation, the Herman Nohl School is expected to be permanently relocated at a suitable time. The land in Steuerwalder Straße is taken over by the Werner-von-Siemens School. The Werner von Siemens School and the Walter Gropius School will cooperate closely and are expected to merge in the long term.
The Werner-von-Siemens-Schule consists of the vocational school for electrical engineering, information technology IT, metal technology, automotive engineering, the vocational high school for technology, the technical college, the technical college (technical school), vocational school and vocational entry school. Currently, about 1,400 students attend the Werner-von-Siemens-Schule. The teaching staff consists of about 80 teachers.
For the redevelopment of BBS Steuerwald, it is necessary to relocate the areas affected by the remediation measures in order to be able to continue school operations with the least possible restrictions. Since there are no objects, appropriate size and equipment available for this purpose, it is necessary to create a replacement building in modular construction. For the duration of the redevelopment measure, this is to accommodate the areas/clusters affected by the construction measures as alternative quarters. The building contains only average classrooms with corresponding ancillary rooms and circulation areas. Subject classes (natural sciences, workshops, etc.) are not required.
The architectural services for this replacement building in modular construction are the subject of this tender. The construction works are to be awarded on the basis of a service description with a service programme (§ 7 VOB/A).
