DLR intends to purchase a projection system to be integrated into the new Fixed-Base Simulator#2, an additional fixed-base simulator that will be part of the existing Air Vehicle Simulator (AVES). The Fixed-Base Simulator#2 is primarily needed for flight test preparation with DLR’s new flight test bed ISTAR (In-Flight Systems and Technology Airborne Research), which is a modified Falcon 2 000 LX aircraft. The fixed-base Simulator#2 will be installed in an existing building at DLR’s site in Braunschweig, Germany. The projection system shall be planned, delivered and build up by the supplier consisting of three projectors and a spherical dome which shall provide a combined field of view of at least 180 degrees vertical and 50 degrees horizontal. Further simulation components like an aircraft cockpit replica, motion system, access bridge, etc. are not part of this tender process.
The bidding procedure will be carried out as a negotiated procedure with a call to participate according to section 17 VgV and consists of three (3) tender stages:
