The Baltic Sea Cycle Path runs from Flensburg via Lübeck through Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania to the German-Polish border in Ahlbeck and is one of the most famous and important long-distance cycle routes in the state of M-V. Total length approx. 8,000 km), which runs around the Baltic Sea as a long-distance cycle path and, with a length of approximately 1100 km, is also of European importance beyond the inner German borders. Between the Hanseatic City of Stralsund and the University and Hanseatic City of Greifswald, the Baltic Sea Coastal Cycle Path is currently run from the north parallel to the B105 on the old B96 and then runs from the village of Mesekenhagen via the district road VG 2 to Greifswald. Due to the very poor state of the route for use as a supra-regional long-distance cycle path and to reach tourist attractions and facilities, the cycle path between Stralsund and Greifswald has to be structurally renewed.

The Baltic Sea Cycle Route, also known as the Hansa Route (Baltic Sea Cycle Route), is the EuroVelo route EV10 and, with a length of approximately 7,980 kilometers, runs as a long-distance cycle path around the coastal states of the Baltic Sea. The municipalities of Neuenkirchen, Wackerow and Mesekenhagen, represented by the Landhagen office, are planning the construction or re-designation of the Baltic coast cycle path on the “old” B96 (municipal road). The planned facility will be operated both inside and outside the local locations as a cycling facility, bicycle road and mixed traffic almost parallel to the B105 in two-way traffic.
In the course of the execution of the 01st and 2nd construction phases, the transport system will be built between the local locations of Neuenkirchen and Mesekenhagen.
