Description:
Server - Kliniken Ostalb

Hardware resources in the virtualized server and desktop area are the prerequisite for the realization of sustainable projects in the hospital sector. For this reason, the data center of the Ostalb Clinics is to be expanded to include the components described in this bill of quantities in order to provide the required performance features for future virtualized servers and applications.

In order not to jeopardize patient care and to avoid system failures, all possibilities must be implemented to achieve this goal. Since this tender is financed by public subsidies, great attention must be paid to the cost factor. These goals can only be achieved if components from the manufacturers already in use in the Ostalb clinics are installed. The information and communication architecture of Kliniken Ostalb is geared towards the manufacturers HP and DELL. As part of this tender, components from HP and DELL are to be offered.

A homogeneous hardware infrastructure within the clusters is the prerequisite for the upgrade of future (from version 8) VMWare vSphere versions.

In addition to individual servers for specific applications, Kliniken Ostalb operates a centralized server network as the basis for a virtualized server landscape, as well as another server network as the basis for a virtualized desktop environment. Basically, the virtual infrastructure is therefore divided into two management areas (VMware vSphere and VMware vCenter).

Since powerful hardware from HP is already installed in the vCenter VSI Server, which will continue to be used, components from HP will be procured for this area.

The vCenter VDI virtual desktops is operated with up-to-date and powerful hardware from Dell, for this area components are to be procured from DELL.
