In recent years the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has worked on developing its own inspection activities in order, amongst other things, to fulfil the expectations in the Parliamentary Proposition 12 (2017 - 2018) on:
The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway must be a strong and clear authority and must, in an active and clear way, assess its policy use and adapt this to developments in the industry. The development can mean that there is a need for the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway being clearer in its reactions and inspecting that impositions are followed up to the necessary degree.
This is also underlined in the department's own goal of being a strong and clear department in the follow-up of the industry. The Ministry of Health and Care Services would like to enter into a review contract to review and assess how the authority has carried out this work and what concrete outcomes and results this has given.
The contract will be valid from when it is signed until the submission of the final report on 15 June 2022. The total contract value is up to NOK 2 500 000, excluding VAT.
For a more detailed description of the assignment, see annex 1 of the contract (the Contracting Authority’s description of the assignment).
