NHS borders requires the provision of a dental laboratory service.

The contract term will be 4 years.

Dental clinics are in several locations throughout the borders region of Scotland. Borders covers approx 1800 square miles and is approx 50 miles from east to west and from north to south. Borders has around 110 000 residents.

Currently there are 24 dentists (17 whole time equivalents) providing dental services.

Dentists will be Salaried dental practitioners, specialist salaried dental practitioners (Ortho) and community dentists.

The general dental practitioners currently have 17 000 registered patients with a projected total of 23 000. Community dentists provide care for approx 4 000 patients. Orthodontics have 300 current patients.

All dental services are provided within NHS terms and conditions and there is no private work carried out.
