The project comprises an extensive deep refurbishment and extension of the existing Block (L) to accommodate facilities for the faculty of engineering and design. The existing building is predominantly single storey totalling 1 568 m2 and the refurbishment will involve full element replacement. The proposed new build of Approx. 1 700 m2 will comprise a part three storey extension to the existing building. Accommodation includes art and design studios, workshops, black box accommodation, ceramics, print and other specialist art and design studios together with a café, staff and ancillary accommodation and associated external works to include a 50 space carpark.
