GIE EURIDICE (Economic Interest Grouping between SCK CEN and ONDRAF / NIRAS) is responsible for the management and operation of the HADES underground laboratory (- 225 m).

This laboratory is accessible from 2 wells, each with 1 or more collection facilities.

1 st Wells of the underground laboratory HADES was realized in the early 1980s.

In order to be able to use this laboratory for at least 20 years, the interior of this well will be completely renovated.

To accompany this work, a design office was requested.

A consortium of Tractebel Engineering (B) and BGE Technology (D) has been appointed for this purpose.

It was decided to divide the works into 3 markets: "general construction" (lot 1), "technical equipment" (lot 2) and "well collection and equipment" (lot 3).

This contract consists of lot 1 "general construction" and lot 2 "technical equipment".

The content of this lot is as follows:

- preliminary demolition work,

- environmental works (earthworks, foundations, sewers ...),

- construction of the mechanical building and the well tower,

- pilot coordination for the entire renovation of well 1 (valid for "technical equipment" and "well collection and equipment" lots).

The content of this lot is as follows:

- electrical work,

- HVAC mechanical building,

- installation of the HD pump in the bottom of the well,

- emergency generator in the technical building of the mechanical building.
