EPR2 - MECHANICAL TESTS ON SPECIMENS WITH DEFECTS INTRODUCED INTO WELDS

Thermomechanical case- As part of the EPR2 project, EDF wishes to carry out non-destructive volume inspections of enclosure liner welds via UT technologies and wishes to be able to justify the size of certain defects detected. The performance will take place according to the following steps:

■ Mechanical characterization of base and filler metals

■ Manufacture, welding and coupon controls

■ Destructive testing

The service is broken down into a firm part:

MECHANICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF BASE AND FILLER METALS

MANUFACTURE, WELDING AND INSPECTION OF SPECIMENS

DESTRUCTIVE TESTING

and an optional part: Complementary Tests

The minimum skills required for this service are:

■ Welders must be qualified in accordance with EN ISO 9606-1 and

welding in accordance with EN ISO 14732 (§ CCLIN 7421 of [3]);

■ Agents performing non-destructive testing will be qualified with an appropriate level

according to the requirements defined in EN ISO 9712 (§ CCLIN 12110 of [3]).
