Skanderborg-Hørning District Heating A.m.b (hereinin the following referred to as SKHFJ) wants to establish an electrically driven NH3-based heat pump system that can use outdoor air as a heat source, and with at least 12.5 MW of heat production at an outdoor temperature of -1°C. The system must be based on spectacle compressors. The total NH3 filling for the plant may exceed 5 tonnes, but the system must be divided into two circuits with a maximum of 4.9 tonnes of NH3 filling, which must be able to be isolated from each other and each be able to provide the desired discharge temperature from the heat pump regardless of whether the other circuit is in operation (e.g. by service). During normal operation, the two circuits must be connected to both the NH3 and the district heating water side to achieve optimal operation.
The plant will handle the production of district heating in co-operation with the existing production units at the Denmarksvej 15 plant, Skanderborg. The heat pump is to be built in an existing building (hereinupting the "VP building") on an acquired neighbouring site immediately south of the plant at the address Danmarksvej 18b. The establishment of a transmission line from the plant to the existing plant as well as the supply of electricity supply at 10 kV level is carried out by the developer. As part of the contract, the VP building will be rebuilt and adapted to the heat pump, but where as much remaining as possible will be used for storage of wood pellets. The refrigeration yard will be built immediately east of the VP building.
When designing the installation, the possibility and significance of a future extension with an identical installation for a total output of at least 25 MW shall be taken into account.
