Description:
TNW_Arch_Landkreis Wunsiedel in the Fichtelgebirge_Energetische renovation of the Fichtelgebirgshalle

Efficient into the future - energy-efficient refurbishment / optimisation of the Fichtelgebirge hall in Wunsiedel

,

Description of the initial energy situation (improvement of energy efficiency)

,

Foundation:

,

The Fichtelgebirgshalle was built from 1982 - 1984 and then put into operation. The initial energy situation is correspondingly poor. Since that time, the individual parts of the building have essentially only been looked after in terms of building maintenance. No major remediation measures were carried out. Only in 2007 some parts of the heating and ventilation systems were renewed. The Fichtelgebirgshalle component includes: foyer, large hall (with stage), small hall, multi-purpose room, club room, entrance hall, cloakroom, toilet area, library and tourist office.

,

The hall was built in connection with the part of the hotel, restaurant, reception, bowling alley, and caretaker's apartments, which is not part of this measure.

,

In order to comply with the targeted subsidies, an efficiency building 70 is required in the present case.

,

Object planning services for buildings and interiors are commissioned in stages in accordance with Part 3 Section 1 HOAI in service phases 1-9 in accordance with Section 34 (3) HOAI in conjunction with Annex 10 Number 10.1 HOAI.

,

In addition, special services are commissioned.

,

In order to comply with the targeted subsidies, an efficiency building 70 is required in the present case.

,

In order to improve energy efficiency, the following key measures are planned separately for each component:

,

,

Fassadenflächen:

,

The existing façade surfaces with mineral exterior plaster and wooden windows correspond to the energetic condition of the construction period. All enveloped surfaces are to be thermally insulated with the goal of climate neutrality by 2040. The façade surfaces are to be equipped with a mineral thermal insulation composite system (U-value 0.15). New doors (incl. controls), window and façade surfaces (U-value 0.80) with triple glazing will be installed. In order to prevent the rooms from heating up in summer, sun protection systems are installed in some areas.

,

,

Roofs:

,

The pitched roof surfaces are designed as a wooden construction (mostly without thermal insulation) with roof formwork and beaver tail covering. In the area of the large hall, there is a bituminous flat roof on the supporting structure on steel trusses. On the ground floor, larger flat roof areas are designed as a walk-in terrace (escape route). Here, all connection details to the façade must also be revised.

The existing beaver tail cover should be preserved if possible. The insulation is to be carried out on the top floor ceiling (U-value 0.14). The flat roofs over the large hall and in the terrace area are to be renewed. If statically possible, the flat roof above the hall is to be designed as a green roof and equipped with a PV system.

,

Interiors (non-energetic):

,

The Fichtelgebirgshalle with tourist office and the library have been in use for almost 40 years. The rooms with workstations are adapted to current needs. For this purpose, the room shells (floor, wall, ceiling) are partially renewed. In the entrance foyer, the flooring will be replaced.

,

,

Heat supply systems:

,

The heat supply is currently provided by 2 gas boilers with an output of 450 KW each and a gas-powered CHP unit with an output of 80 KW. In addition, the absorption chiller is also supplied with heat, but this is not economical due to the low flow temperature. Fittings for hydraulic balancing are missing. The plant is silted up in some areas. The existing heating pumps are without automatic control. Pipes are inadequately insulated. In the future, the heating system will be connected to a district heating system. The hydraulic circuits are rebuilt and inlet pressure-dependent valves are placed in front of radiators and coils. High-efficiency pumps will be installed and the pipeline network will be insulated.

,

,

Ventilation systems:

,

The ventilation installation from the construction period is partly dilapidated and no longer functional. The facilities are inadequately insulated. Important components of the heat recovery system are without function. It is no longer possible to procure spare parts. New energy-efficient systems with heat recovery will be installed. The ducts and insulation will be renewed in some areas.

,

,

Refrigeration plants:

,

The existing system works uneconomically due to the too low and even lower flow temperature in the future. Installation of a new chiller with a closed recooling circuit, the highest possible efficiency and throttle circuit.

,

,

Lighting systems:

,

Parts of the hall are already equipped with modern LED lighting. However, toilet rooms, changing rooms and ancillary rooms have not yet been installed. The rooms that have not yet been converted to LED lighting are still being converted to LED lighting.

,

,

Lightning protection systems:

,

The existing lightning protection system must be adapted to the new conditions after the work on the façade and roof surfaces.

,

,

Conveyors:

,

The existing hydraulic elevator is dilapidated. For this purpose, a modern rope or belt elevator with energy savings of 70% is to be installed.

The existing hydraulic lifting platform in the orchestra pit is only partially operational. The hydraulic drive of the platform is to be replaced by an energy-saving, chain-driven drive.

,

Building and plant automation:

,

The control of the heating, ventilation and refrigeration systems only works to a very limited extent The control of the systems is completely renewed. A building management system with energy monitoring will be installed.

,

,

Note documents / plans:

,

An up-to-date measurement will be prepared by 11/2023.
