The Geological Survey of Norway (NGU) wishes to drill the bedrock underlying soils and possibly Mesozoic sedimentary rocks on Andøya (Andenes municipality) in Vesterålen, and plans to drill approximately 5 vertical, cored drillholes (depending on pricing and budget ) to 70-300 meters depth. Competent companies are hereby invited to submit tenders on this assignment.
Technical descriptions and additional required information on the task is detailed in the attached tender document.
1. It should be drilled down to unweathered bedrock. If the contractor gets technical or geological problems during drilling, NGU shall immediately be contacted to discuss and decide whether it should be cast down/reduced casing in the hole or stop the drilling.
2. Minimum drill core diameter should be 40 mm or more. Core recovery should be as continuous as possible and cores must be carefully labeled and sealed for transport to NGU laboratory in Trondheim.
3. A Drilling Report containing all drilling information about drilling speed, registration of fractures/weakness zones, water intrusion from fractures, rock type and other relevant information will be required from the drilling operation.
