The procurement is for the reception, transport, and further treatment of collected household waste and municipal commercial waste from Tromsø Municipality and Karsløy Municipality. As an non-binding estimate, the contracting authority expects there will be approx. 38 000 tonnes of waste a year, which will be roughly split between 17 500 tonnes of burnable residual waste, 12 000 tonnes of waste for material recycling, 1 200 tonnes of hazardous waste, and 1 000 tonnes of other waste a year that will be processed under this contract.
