Enebakk municipality has decided to demolish the old stone coffin dam in the Tangen river between Vågvann and Mjær in Ytre Enebakk and construct a new dam with a footbridge. The existing dam was built in 1995. It is a timber coffin dam filled with local stone. There are major leaks and deformations due to rotten timber. The municipality closed the dam for the general public in 2014. The new dam shall be constructed on the same site as the existing dam, on rock foundations.
