The following is the main scope of works of the whole project:

— caisson works: major refurbishment and upgrade works to the spare caisson,

— wear track: replacement of worn steel tracks located on the floor of the lock that the gate slides across,

— outer sill: repair works to the damaged outer sill which causes excessive leakage affecting lock operational duration and success,

— hauling/operating machinery: the hauling/operating machinery in use is the original 1954 equipment and in requirement of complete upgrade/replacement,

— caisson removal/installation: caisson movements, installation and commissioning within lock possession duration.

This is an operational lock entrance to a busy dock, which will need to be out of service for a minimal period while the works are completed.
