Currently, 144 children between the ages of 6 and 21 attend the school and 36 children attend the affiliated kindergarten. Currently, 81 pupils can be schooled at the main building in Tuttlingen. It is a closed all-day school.
,

The expanded space program is to be planned at the existing school site in the form of an extension. In this context, the necessary interventions in the building stock must also be examined.
,
The program area (net area) of the conversion and expansion of the Johann-Peter-Hebel-Schule was determined to be approx. 1300 m² plus ancillary use and development areas. The competition task includes the relocation of the dining hall, the kitchen and the school administration (director and secretariat) as well as the conversion and extension of the building wings on both sides of the entrance area.
,
The special feature of the task is the economical and sustainable handling of the building stock and the development of an architectural response to the special design language of the building stock.
,
The aim of this implementation competition is to obtain a high-quality, economical and sustainable building for this location that responds appropriately and in high quality to the respective urban planning, functional and economic requirements.
