Internationalisation of the Petroleum-oriented Supplier Industry

OED provides background information and talking points to political leadership about the activities of the supplier industry internationally. The international activity/export become very extensive, while there have been significant changes in activity in recent years as a result of significant changes in the activity due to oil price, cost level in the industry and not least operational costs and challenges related to Covid-19.

This study will give a quantitative, qualitative and systematic collection and analsyis of information about i.a international turnover (export and sales through subsidiaries) from the Norwegian supplier industry. In addition, it will provide answers to the significance of international activity for the industry home. Finally, the study will say something about trends in this market in the short and medium term and the extent to which the traditionally petroleum-oriented supplier industry also supplies and will supply, goods and services to the renewable industry. The complete assignment description is in Annex 1 to the assignment contract.

Also in 2020 until and including 2022, it will be important for OED to have good knowledge about the activity level of Norwegian based supplier companies.

In addition, it will provide answers to the significance of international activity for the industry home. Finally, the study will say something about trends in this market in the short and medium term and the extent to which the traditionally petroleum-oriented supplier industry also supplies and will supply, goods and services to the renewable industry. The work will begin as soon as possible after contract signing and the final report will be delivered and presented by 15 November 2020. The main study will be implemented within an economic limit of NOK 450 000 excluding VAT. The contracting authority wants an option to implement a further two updates of the study and as such suppliers must have the capacity to update the study two times until and including 2022. The limit will include a main study in addition to two options. The total economic limit, including options, is up to NOK 1 350 000 excluding VAT.
