After the cessation of hard coal mining on the Ruhr at the end of 2018, some tailings piles had to be designed according to the specifications of the approved landscape plans.
The final design of the tailings pile Lohberg Nord extension is to be implemented in accordance with the specifications of the mining operation plan. In total, the tailings pile is to be finished with approx. 3.5 million m³ or 7 million tonnes of profiling and recultivation material. As of 31.12.2022, approx. 50% of the masses had been installed.
External masses are required for the profiling of the surfaces, which are made available via RAG. RAG commissions the Contractor to inspect and release the soil masses by a recognised expert (soil assessment), to check delivered soil masses with regard to their compliance with the declaration analysis (material suitability monitoring) and to accept, weigh and record incoming trucks.
