In recent years, the Municipal Autonomous Port of Esbjerg (hereafter the Port of Esbjerg) has been in the process of expanding the East Port to meet the demand for new port facilities.
In order to provide access to larger ships from the North Sea, as a result of the Port of Esbjerg's status as a NATO port, the shipping channel Grådyb into the Port of Esbjerg will be deepened.
The contract shall comprise the works described in the tender documents, which shall comprise, in summary:
• Suction of sand, transport, pumping in order to build up space in Stage 5.
• Digging of clay/sogs, access and construction of a depot in Stage 5 on top of the pumped sand.
• Bearings for settlement and control of the work performed
Estimated distribution of sediment:
Recovery: Pumping in Stage 5 in the East Harbour, sand: 600,000 m3
Usefulness: Pumping in Tape 5 in Østhavnen, finsand m. silt: 2.170.000m3
Recovery: Transport to depot, Other sediments (Clay/Sog): 400,000m3
