The external thermal insulation composite system based on glued and doweled mineral wool insulation boards ( approx. 450² ) as well as the plinth insulation boards ( approx. 50m ) will be attached to staircase B and cantilevered beams/columns after the preparatory work has been carried out. In the run-up to the event, the original. existing aluminium sheet façade panels as well as the old mineral wool insulation must be removed, the substructure must be removed and disposed of.

The Maximilian Kolbe School was built around 1975 as a reinforced concrete skeleton construction (TT girder ceilings on the ground floor and upper floors) or reinforced concrete/masonry construction (basement) with non-load-bearing system partition walls (so-called "Mechel walls") as interior walls and a post-and-beam curtain façade. The building has 5 storeys (UG-3. OG) and a technical floor. Due to age, there are deficiencies in the building in terms of building services, fire protection, energy balance, etc., which are to be remedied in the course of the renovation. The renovation, upgrading and conversion will be carried out in 3 construction phases.
