The order includes structural design in accordance with § 51 HOAI for the extension of the Kandel primary school, new canteen building and all-day rooms.
A phased commissioning of services from LPH 5-6 structural design is planned. In addition, the LPH 8 - object monitoring, engineering control of the construction of the structure for compliance with the tested static documents - will be commissioned as a special service.

For the all-day operation of the Ludwig Riedinger Kandel primary school, a two-storey new building with a cafeteria and all-day rooms is to be built.
The selected structure along the northern property line creates the hitherto missing completion of the courtyard area in terms of urban planning and thus forms a room edge to Marktstraße.
In the eastern area, the passage from Marktstraße to Kirchgasse is still available for public residential traffic. The kitchen is also delivered there, but is completely separated from the schoolyard by a fence.
The independent extension will be accessed via an access from the schoolyard. The foyer has the stairs to the upper floor as well as the toilet facilities and the lift. The foyer leads directly to the dining room with a cloakroom and food distribution. The dining room opens onto the schoolyard to the south via generous window elements, so that the outdoor area can also be included in the warmer season. On the east side of the building, the kitchen area with clear black and white separation as well as the ancillary rooms for staff and building services are arranged.
On the upper floor there is the all-day room, the integration rooms as well as the multi-purpose room and a work room. The corridor provides access to the 2nd structural escape and rescue route as well as the external seat staircase that opens up to the schoolyard.
After the variant study dispensed with a basement level, the flat roof of the building houses the ventilation systems with appropriate housing and a PV system. The building is supplied with heat from the existing building via an air-water heat pump.
A ceramic curtain wall in combination with a thermal insulation composite system is provided as the outer wall cladding.
Project goals:
A. Project objectives Structural engineering, among others:
Implementation of the existing design plan while continuously optimizing the functionality and sustainability of the building.
Project objective Economy and sustainability, life cycle costs In addition to the design and functional requirements, the cost-effectiveness of the measure is of particular importance. The goal of building planning must be to comply with the specified investment costs and to minimize life cycle costs. This includes a high-quality choice of construction and materials for the planning and construction phase. The use of materials rated as sustainable is desired. The aim is to achieve a pleasant indoor climate with suitable building materials. The selected designs are to be optimized with regard to renovation and modernization.
