The fundamental purpose of the contract is to provide a reliable, effective and satisfactory service for the contract period in order to maximise the recycling of highway construction waste material from the highways depots of Monmouthshire County Council.

The material is generally inert and consists of bituminous products, such as dug soils, granular roadstones, broken up insitu concrete products such as kerbs and slabs and rural road sweepings which will include large quantities of leaf and vegetative matter.

The succesful contractor will be required to visit the Depots on an as and when basis and remove all dug highways construction waste material and deliver to a registered recycling plant of their choice for recycling.
