Description:

Radar. Summary of requirement/description of work: procurement of four new short range maritime surveillance radars to ensure shipping is clear of Air Weapons Ranges (AWR) and associated impact areas prior to any release of ordnance. The ranges are located on the coast at RAF Tain, RAF Pembury Sands, RAF Holbeach, and RAF Donna Hook. Operation and day to day maintenance is currently carried out on site by RAF technicians, civilan tradesmen and 4th Line Contractor.

Work Package: Replacement of obsolete systems on all ranges. The radar equipment should contain effective maritime coverage to 12nm on all AWR's, be able to detect and display small targets and should be able to maintain maritime coverage irrespective of weather or atmospherics. The replacement shall have a facility to create, store and recall user defined video maps/overlays and be able to select 3 desired ranges. Replacement includes assembly, adjustment, alignment, calibration, integration, acceptance testing and commissioning. Replacement is intended to enhance system operability, reliabilty and maintainability. The proposal is for a three year support contract for the new equipment with a three year option of extension.

Estimated value excluding VAT: range between 113 057 GBP to 347 868,00 GBP.
