The objective of the tender process is to find a contractor for Gasum Oy to perform marine geotechnical investigations for Balticconnector pipeline design and installation. Investigations will cover both near shore and offshore sections in both countries.

Duties of the contractor consist of various field tests. Quantities of tests will be defined more in details in final specification. Offshore water depth is up to 100m. At least 6-8 meter long samples + CPT are required at offshore area. At near shore areas 3 meter's bedrock confirmation by boreholes + definition of soft layers + samples are included. The geotechnical investigations are to be conducted during years 2014 (major work) and 2015 (additional works), starting beginning of May 2014.
