POUL LØWENØRN is the State Inspection Vessel. The ship is engaged in maintaining and changing floating and stationary markings in Danish waters and performs special tasks such as sea surveying, diving tasks and sea rescue in cooperation with other authorities. The ship is equipped with a system for controlling the direction and revolutions of the ship's 2 x azimuth propellers from the various "steering consoles" on the bridge/in the engine. The system is called EW Aquapilot control system and is supplied by Rolls Royce at new-build. The system is worn out and at risk of failure, and the Danish Maritime Authority therefore wishes to replace the manoeuvring system with a new system that can be integrated into the ship with the existing thrusters (retrofitting). The installation must be carried out at Assens Shipyard, in DK at the time when the main survey is to be carried out on the ship over 21 days. Main inspection will be in the period 4 Sep. 2024 +/- 3 months. Exact dates will be announced by March 2024.
