Extension of the Rodenbeck School - metal construction work / glazing
The Rodenbeck school in Minden is planning to merge the two school locations with a spatial expansion of the school building on Wilhelm-Tell-Straße. Students need a safe place where they can shape and strengthen their interests and abilities.
For an occupancy of approx. 100 children, in addition to nine learning groups, creative areas, a work and technology area, places to rest and exercise, as well as rooms for vocational preparation are to be created. In the supply area, a school canteen with a multifunctional dining room is to be built. The kitchen is planned as a warm-up kitchen, the delivery takes place via Wilhelm-Tell-Straße. Since only the heating of food and no preparation takes place, no showers etc. are planned for employees.
An OGS area is to enable all-day care in the form of a day-group analogous all-day concept.
In addition to the rooms for pupils, the administrative area for a multi-professional team is also to be revised and expanded.
The property of the school Rodenbeck Minden, location Wilhelm-Tell-Straße, is located in a rural single-family house area. It opens to the south side into the open landscape.
The existing building of the Rodenbeck school is located in the northern area of the property. It is characterized by two single-storey, parallel building blocks with a gable roof, which are connected to each other in two places. Thus, a central, open patio is enclosed by the building parts.
To the west, along the long side of the school, is Wilhelm-Tell-Straße, which serves as the main access by car. To the east is the schoolyard, as well as a single-field sports hall. The southern part of the property is undeveloped and characterized by a large lawn. Here is a temporary container with two classrooms. From the south, students can reach the school on foot or by bicycle.
The new building is to receive a BNB Silver certification for sustainable and energy-efficient construction. Accordingly, the entire planning and construction process is accompanied by an NBB coordinator.
An ecologically sensible construction in hybrid construction is carried out: foundations,
Floor, load-bearing and stiffening building cores, as well as the slab above ground floor, in reinforced concrete
Construction - external and non-load-bearing walls on the ground floor, as well as walls and ceiling on the 1st floor in
sustainable timber frame construction.
A highly insulated and tight building envelope in combination with a central ventilation system in the new building and decentralised ventilation units in existing buildings including heat recovery contribute to high energy efficiency. The heat is generated by a pellet boiler and a brine heat pump, which uses geothermal energy, which ensures an almost complete use of renewable energy sources. This also supports the PV system on the existing building as well as large parts of the new roof. The flat roofs of the two single-storey entrance areas will be provided with an extensive green roof.
