The DRV has had a comprehensive fire protection certificate drawn up for its Frankenklinik, Bad Kissingen between Menzelstraße and Pfaffstraße and along Ballingstraße (U-shaped building complex with inner courtyard). This proof includes various fire protection deficiencies extending across the entire building complex, which must be remedied. The Frankenklinik consists of several buildings of different ages and different types.

The subject of the contract are services of object planning buildings and interiors in accordance with § 33 ff HOAI 2021, LPH 5 to 9.

The measures to be carried out include in particular the upgrading of exterior walls including windows and doors, the retrofitting of fire dampers, the adaptation of existing ceiling constructions as well as rescue upgrades of ramps, railings and the construction of escape and rescue routes.

The work is to be carried out during ongoing operations and requires appropriate interim measures by means of foreclosures. Fire protection and hygiene concerns must be taken into account. At the same time, the impairment for staff and patients must be kept as low as possible.

At the same time as the fire protection measures, further construction work is taking place in the clinic and must be coordinated with the respective planners. For example, the existing ward block (1st to 4th floors in the eastern wing) will be gutted and renovated from the ground up. Another measure is the spatial connection to the ward block on levels 1 to 3. There, too, rooms are being rebuilt and upgraded.

The necessary fire protection measures are based on the deficiencies that have been summarised in a fire protection certificate and have already been decided by a fire protection expert.
