NHS England Busines Plan 2013/2014 - 2015/2016 includes a commitment to reduce inequalities: 100,000 citizens to be trained in basic online skills to boost health literacy.
In order to drive and support the delivery of this commitment, NHS England require a new arrangement for the provision of management agent services, to include management, promotion and development services, to pilot a range of initiatives to support getting people online, so they can benefit from the opportunities of the digital revolution in health.
The management services will include:
Co-ordination of a network of online training centres;
Management of the delivery of online training;
Promotion and marketing;
Funding management;
User engagement and programme evaluation.
