Lauchheim, Kapfenburg Castle, expansion (1st BA) + restructuring (2nd BA) of the music school academy, architectural services according to Part 3 Section 1 HOAI
The measure is divided into 2 construction phases. The work takes place during operation.
1. BA:
New extension for accommodation of the International Music School Academy Foundation in the grounds of Kapfenburg Castle based on an existing sketch.
Total usable area approx. 725 m
Estimated building costs gross EUR 5 100 000
Task:
As the demand cannot be met on the basis of the existing overnight accommodation, 50 new overnight accommodation should be created in a new building.
2nd BA:
Restructuring of the International Music School Academy Foundation at Kapfenburg Castle
Total net floor area, existing 9,320 m
Total net floor area of new building as part of the restructuring: A new building may be required as part of the restructuring. The area of this new building depends on the design.
Eligible costs of EUR 5 010 000 are used as the basis for the preparation of the offer.
Task:
So that the foundation can continue to fulfill its task of musical education, it is necessary to revise and redesign the infrastructure of the castle with the following measures, also in view of the changing and expanding fields of activity:
- partial conversion of the existing multi-bed rooms of the academy in the brewery and forestry office building into double rooms and raising of the room standard,
- Gastronomy: expansion and optimization of the catering capacity and the associated operating areas,
- structural measures to optimize organizational processes,
- concentration of decentralized administration,
- concentration of the decentralized accommodation area,
- creating accessibility in various areas of the castle,
- Improve the access and parking situation.
Lauchheim, Kapfenburg Castle:
Project planning services for buildings according to Part 3, Section 1 HOAI. Basic services in service phases 2-9 and special services in service phases 2, 8 and 9 for the first construction phase and service phases 1 (feasibility study), 2, 5, 8 and 9 for the second construction phase.
The project “Development of State-Owned Real Estate” (ELA) supports the development and revitalization of the Kapfenburg Palace.

Kapfenburg Castle is a cultural monument of particular importance within the meaning of § 28 / § 12 DSchG. The construction project 1.BA is in the area of the archaeological cultural monument acc. § 2 DSchG “(Lost) medieval castle / Kapfenburg castle.
