At the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics ITWM, the Fraunhofer Society intends to expand the existing institute building at the Kaiserslautern location by a further construction phase and to build an additional technical center. The extension has a usable area of approx. 2,780 m 2 and the technical center has a usable area of approx. 650 m 2 . Office work areas for around 200 employees, demonstration and pilot plant areas, as well as training and seminar areas, physical laboratories, IT infrastructure rooms and storage rooms are required. The construction of the technical center is to be accelerated.

The technical systems of system groups 4, 5, 6 and 7 are to be planned and their execution monitored. Equipment groups 6 and 7 include elevators, crane systems and media technology, among other things.

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft attaches great importance to the implementation of an innovative, sustainable and resource-saving, but at the same time economical building, energy and operating concept. The aim is to develop an energy concept that allows the building to be operated with as little additional CO2 emissions as possible.
