Description:
MPI for Meteorology, Conversion: Object Planning LPH 2-9

The subject of the contract to be awarded are architectural services in the field of property planning in accordance with §§ 33 ff HOAI 2021 in connection with relocation logistics during ongoing operation.

The cost ceiling for the construction costs of new construction measures in accordance with KGR 200 to 700 amounts to EUR 13.104 million (net). Of this amount, KGR 300 and KGR 400 amount to EUR 9.635 million (net).

Fee parameters: Fee zone IV minimum rate. The contract document provided is decisive for the services to be awarded as well as for the remuneration.

More detailed and important information on the planning services to be awarded (object of the contract) is described under point II.2.4) of this announcement.

The MPI for Meteorology is currently housed at various locations. The main location is the building of the former Center for Marine and Atmospheric Sciences (ZMAW)/ Building Bundesstrasse 53 (BU 53), which currently also houses the University of Hamburg.

After almost 20 years of use, the office building is to be converted for scientific uses of the MPI, so that in the future all departments can conduct research at one location.

The usable area of the ZMAW is 5,210 m² (NUF 1-6), the gross floor area is 9,438 m² GFA and the gross volume (BRI) is approx. 16,000 m³.

The subject of the service to be awarded is the service phases 2-9 of the HOAI 2021. A step-by-step commissioning of one or more service phases is envisaged (see section II.2.11).

The main planning challenges are the following aspects:

In the existing building of 5,210 m² (of which 730 m² NUF 4 is in the basement), a space requirement of 4,712 m² can be accommodated economically. The axial dimension on the office floors, which is rather unfavourable for future use, must be optimised in the redesign of the interiors.

The current library on the ground floor is to be reduced in size. A wide range of spaces for communication, seminars and informal exchange are important to the user.

Construction phases are to be formed for the conversion during ongoing operations. The organisation with any interim removals must be closely coordinated with the client and the user.

When selecting architects, great importance is attached to the competence and experience in the renovation of office and administrative buildings, in conversions in existing buildings and in the creation and organization of relocation management during ongoing office operations.

By submitting an application for participation, applicants declare that they are able to provide the services within the period specified in section II.2.7 and that they have the necessary professional, human and material resources at their disposal. The special requirements for the provision of services may make it necessary to be available frequently/at short notice at the request of the client for coordination meetings on site in Hamburg.
