Provide a statutory SEND Information Advice and Support Service to children and young people aged 0-25 with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and their parents/carers, offering free impartial information, advice, and support related to education, health, and social care as defined in the SEND Code of Practice.

The SENDIASS (special educational needs and disability Information Advice and Support Service) is a statutory service under sections 19(c), 26(3), 32 and 49 of the Children and Families Act 2014
Regulations. The purpose of the Service is to provide children and young people aged 0 – 25 years with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and their parents/carers with free impartial information, advice and support about matters relating to SEND including information on matters relating to education, health and social care as defined in the SEND Code of Practice.

In the context of the delivery of this service, impartiality is defined as providing factual information about all available options, and advice and support, so that parents/carers of children and young people with SEND and young people with SEND can make informed decisions, without bias, influence or direction, based on the service’s ethos or the staff’s own views, beliefs, personal judgements or experiences.
