The tendered task consists of thermal weed control mainly on and along roads, paths and sidewalks, including stairs and ramps.

In addition, thermal weed control on gravel paths in parks and natural areas is also included, as well as weed control by hand in places where thermal weed control will / may damage planting or inventory.

The offered task of thermal weed control is based on gas burning, which is the method used so far.

However, Ballerup Municipality would like to make it possible to offer alternative/other thermal methods for weed control.

It will therefore be possible to submit up to three parallel tenders, where gas burning or alternative / other method can be included in whole or in part.

However, when tendering for the use of an alternative/other method of weed control, there must be a test from a recognised and independent testing company demonstrating the effectiveness of the method.

If it can be documented that the alternative/second method has a better efficiency than gas burning, and therefore similar gas burning can be combated with fewer treatments, this can be indicated in the offer list.

The task mainly consists in thermal weed control of:

- Curbs and chasse stone districts along roads

- Helleanlæg

- Solid coatings consisting of e.g. tiles, insitu tiles, cobblestones and chausse stones.

- Sidewalks, where the municipality has a landowner obligation, and therefore weed control must be carried out in the entire width of the sidewalk, including the back edge towards the cadastral boundary.

- Vandrender

- Grusstier

- Areas with e.g. pearlstone, erras and stone flour.

- Stairs and ramps

Weed control must be carried out around furniture and other solid objects, as well as plantings, and where this cannot be carried out by thermal weed control without the risk of damaging them, weed control must be done by manual weeding.

It is estimated that needlework can amount to up to 10%.
