Model financed by parents and school authorities to equip all pupils with mobile digital devices

The LH Wiesbaden has decided on a 1:1 equipment concept with iPads for all 5th grades of its secondary schools - Haupt-, Mittelstufen-, IG-, Real-, Förderschulen and Gymnasien. This gives every pupil the opportunity to use a personal mobile device on a daily basis both at school and at home for school purposes and personal education. Private use should also be possible.

The purchase of the equipment is financed by parents with the participation of the city. The LHW supports all legal guardians with a grant per eligible student for a project duration of 48 months.

Notwithstanding this, LHW will fully assume the costs of the device and the named additional services or accessories for end users who can prove entitlement to benefits after education and participation (SGB II and XII) by means of a performance notice. The proof of BuT reference is provided by the client.

The orders take place in a webshop of the provider by the eligible parents. The description of the devices can be found under "Device description", the demands on the webshop under "Functionality webshop" as well as the financing options and designs to be offered under "Financing options".

The project is expected to start in the 2nd half of the school year 2022/2023 on 01.06.2023. The implementation of the following years is planned for the 2nd half of the year (1 February) of the respective school year. It ends after four years on 30.04.2027.
