Contract for the supply of ceramic plates composed of oxides
This contract concerns the supply by the Holder to the CEA of ceramic plates mixed with two oxides. The quantity to be supplied is of the order of a hundred thousand. Two types of ceramic materials, with variable dimensions and compositions (of the order of a centimeter) are the subject of this contract. These dimensions will be defined prior to the Market. The chemical nature of the two ceramic matrices will be communicated by the Market Specifications at the Call for Tender stage.
The manufacturing process and the associated means of control are developed by the CEA prior to the Market. As such, the CEA will deliver to the Holder of the Contract, when it is initiated, a book of Processes. The process will mainly describe the steps of manufacturing the oxide powder, pressing these same powders, and then sintering. The Holder must equip itself with adequate means of manufacture and control of these plates. The controls will be dimensional, geometric (density), visual and physico-chemical (composition, impurities). The Contract will include a phase of acquisition and qualification of these means of manufacture and control. The Holder will also be in charge of the supply of the raw materials necessary for the services (for ceramic matrices). Optionally, a robustness study of the process developed by the CEA may be requested and additional quantities of ceramic plates may be ordered.
