Rental of transmission capacities on a telecommunications satellite and provision of transmission capacities of different bandwidths (occasional use).

For the signaling connection of the mobile production equipment of the broadcasters of the ARD, a fixed transponder capacity in the Ku band on a geostationary satellite (12.5 O West - 30 O East) with a bandwidth of 73.57 MHz. The footprint of the satellite shall permit bidirectional transmission from the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany and 500 km around its continental borders.

The space segment serves the transmission with ARD own or rented SNG vehicles.

The space segment is left by the provider on a so-called "non-preemptible" and "non-restorable" basis.

This service is a public contract.

For coverage on demand at high utilization (occasional use), additional transmission minutes will be commissioned in the form of flexible framework agreements.

For transmissions different bandwidths between 6 MHz and 18 MHz are used, which the contractor has to allow for booking per minute.
