Description:
Creation of multimedia guides for the Thuringian Palaces and Gardens Foundation

The Thuringian Palaces and Gardens Foundation (STSG) would like to have the future contractor develop multimedia guides as a discovery tool that invite selected facilities to be individually developed and explored.

The future contractor will develop informative, entertaining, inclusive and visitor-oriented multimedia guides at a total of seven locations and bundle them within a technologically and creatively uniform overall structure.

For this purpose, an EVB-IT system contract is to be concluded with the later contractor, which will be the contractual basis for the creation of the multimedia guides until the end of 2024. Following the successive creation, the contractual regular operation including maintenance and support for a maximum period of five years will gradually take place. When the contract is awarded, the contractor is commissioned with maintenance and support for two years. The commissioning of maintenance and support services in the following years is optional.

The Thuringian Palaces and Gardens Foundation (STSG) manages 31 culturally and historically significant palaces, palaces, monasteries and parks in Thuringia. The core competence of the foundation is the technically sound and high-quality refurbishment and valorisation of the facilities entrusted to it. Thanks to project funding from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM), the STSG will be able to develop educational offers in the SchlösserWelt Digital & Original project in the project period 2022 to 2024. These include "classic", analogue formats such as permanent exhibitions/presentations or explorer backpacks. With the realization of a technological platform that provides multimedia guides at up to seven properties, a further, contemporary offer is to be developed with which visitors can access a facility independently.

The STSG would like to have multimedia guides developed by the future contractor as a discovery tool, which invite selected facilities to be individually developed and explored. For this purpose, an EVB-IT system contract is to be concluded with the later contractor, which will form the contractual basis for the multimedia guides to be procured until the end of 2024. Following the successive creation, the contractual regular operation including maintenance and support for a maximum period of five years will gradually take place. When the contract is awarded, the contractor is commissioned with maintenance and support for two years. The commissioning of maintenance and support services in the following years is optional.

The future contractor will develop informative, entertaining, inclusive and visitor-oriented multimedia guides at a total of seven locations and bundle them within a technologically and creatively uniform overall structure. These seven locations are at the same time embedded and important nodes in Thuringia's rich cultural landscape:

- Dornburg Castles

- Monastery of St. Wigbert, Göllingen

- Kranichfeld Castle

- Paulinzella Monastery,

- Schwarzburg Castle

- Wilhelmsthal Palace and Park

- Erfurt, St. Peter's Church

The multimedia guides are intended to guide all visitors through the outdoor area and in some cases also through indoor areas. The focus of the mediation is on architecture, construction and usage history. For over 900 years, abbots, princes and artists inhabited, used and shaped these buildings. However, conversions in the various regimes of the 20th century also left their mark. The multimedia guides are intended to bring this long history of construction and use to life. To this end, the multimedia guides are to use media formats in a targeted manner. Audio, images, videos and 3D visualizations are to be integrated. The multimedia guides are intended to make connections visible in an easy-to-understand way that no longer exist today and are intended to provide insights into rooms that are not accessible. Playful elements (mini-games) are intended to activate visitors of all ages and make their stay at the locations entertaining and entertaining. The offers are intended to have a recognition value at the individual locations and strengthen the branding of the Thuringian Castle Foundation. The multimedia guides should be available as a free information service on users' mobile devices.

The draft EVB-IT contract together with a detailed description of services will only be made available to the selected bidders as part of the second stage of the procedure with the invitation to submit the initial offer.

The project is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. A total of 3.75 million euros will be available for the digitization and mediation project "SchlösserWelt Digital & Original" until the end of 2024.
