The L20 and L21 taxiways between Runway L and the Center Runway (RWY C) were constructed in concrete construction between 1982 and 1984 (L21) and between 1992 and 1997 (L20).
The L20 and L21 taxiways are regularly inspected and serviced in the course of maintenance, whereby cracks in the surface, many ledges and repair points, rut formation, as well as surface embrittlement due to sun, rain, wind and frost were detected.
In order to maintain an ICAO-compliant target condition of the surfaces, a thorough renovation of the taxiways L20 and L21 between taxiway L and RWY C, which meets the requirements in terms of load-bearing capacity and evenness for at least 20 years, is to be carried out in order to achieve a sustainable EASA-compliant condition of the structure. In the course of this, the geometry of the L20 taxiway must be adapted in accordance with the planning approval decision.
