The Kommunale Immobilien Service (KIS) intends to build a new grammar school at the Reiherweg / Pappelallee location in Potsdam-Bornstedt, with construction scheduled to begin in 2024. The use of the school site is planned for the beginning of the school year 2027/28.
The subject of the construction project is the construction of a building for the Gymnasium for 4 classes in the lower secondary level, 7th to 10th grades (about 480 students) and courses and tutorials in the upper secondary level, (formerly 11th and 12th grade, about 224 students).
In addition, a 3-field sports hall (for school and club use) plus an additional field, in the sense of a simple hall for acrobatics, as well as outdoor sports facilities, functional or play facilities, break facilities and necessary parking spaces (cars / bicycles, etc.) as well as internal paths are to be accommodated on the future school area.
Furthermore, a district center / district work is to be connected. This is to be regarded as a self-sufficient building / component / area, but it should be possible to combine space uses with the school.
For this purpose, usable areas of approx. 5,600 m² were determined for the school building, approx. 2,500 m² for the sports hall and approx. 375 m² for the district centre.
For the construction project, a realization competition for the building and outdoor facility planning was carried out as a non-open planning competition with an upstream participation competition and lottery procedure.
Negotiations will be held with the 3 winning teams of the competition. Excerpts of the winning designs are enclosed as an attachment to the call for proposals.
