The city of Wunstorf intends to carry out a large-scale rat control ( Rattus
norvegicus) within the entire city area (a total of 10 districts as well as the core city itself) and an object-related rat control system.
The measure essentially provides for nationwide control measures within the
sewerage, in urban waters and in particularly endangered individual objects.
The entire sewerage system of all districts
(including the core city) has a length of about 383 km, divided into about 190 km of rainwater sewer system and about 193 km of wastewater and combined sewer systems with a total of about 10,000 sewer shaft structures are to be occupied at a first occupancy. There are 54 wastewater and rainwater pumping stations throughout the city, as well as 6 rainwater retention and infiltration basins.
